an hour before

Topic: CongratulatoryPoems

an hour before the day i was born
i was swimming in love
eyes closed and breathing
through your beautiful lips

and as it came closer
as i saw for the first time
your eyes were deep and dark
oceans in the blinding light

taken from me
everything jaded
everything faded

dont forget the keys
my dear
hands shaking and late
to everywhere and everything
dont forget

we were larger than life
and now
much much smaller
than letting go

let go

an hour before the day i was born
and
in the 21rst century
im more likely to be in a trash can somewhere
more likely to starve through my first night on the earth
more likely
to be addicted to the drug
my mother consumed while having me
when she did
more likely,
to be dead.

an hour before the day i was born
we were here
under the stars
above the sea
and you were so beautiful
ready to give life
your eyes glowwith compassion
and mine glow with fear
love is life
and life is taken in a moment
as the heart freezes still

and maybe michal,
im the opposite of perfect right now
but once i was
in your eyes
everything
but what i am now
nothing but stardust
nothing but sand
foolishly waiting to be taken
by the sea
once more
to kiss your depths
to fill your eyes
to burn within your heart
to seep through the cracks
in your window
and onto your beautiful hair
just enough
to break time
just enough
to tear you
just enough
to scare you
just enough
for you to want to
say three words,
(i know, its ok that u cant)
i am sorry....

an hour before the day i was born
your car was stolen
you let yourself hold
what you couldnt bare
not untill now
not untill today
so why make that promise
just to break it.....

an hour before the day i was born
you were an angel
a stars tear on the window
a wish
is the most beautiful thing
this world can offer
and you were
and you are
today
as you stand so close
but u ran so far
and here i am
tonight
following your footprints in the sand
all the way
to the sea...
" kill me sara, kill me again,
with love" - thom yorke, lucky
i love you

an hour before the day i was born

has past
and you're still here
thank you
