My Goodbye to the World

I rose that day with a heavy heart
for it would be my last.
The time had come to end the pain
that filled my troubled past.
I filled the glass with all the pills
and sat down in my place.
I swallowed them all, one by one
as no tear left my face.
I waited there for death to come
when He knocked on my door.
I messed it up; gave it away
He left, knowing there’s more.
It didn’t take long before they came
to help me save my life
They drove me to the hospital,
there I began my strife.
