Living In The Past

To live in the past
Is to die in shame
For the present
Was destroyed
From the thoughts of the past
Yet the present
Cried out!
Cried out with neglect
For it sought attention
That it, would never get
So the present was destroyed
From its past and neglect
Always to be in the shadow of a past
With too much regret

I can so relate to this. I battle my past every day, in fact, i am still living in it. Your poetry is short and sweet here. Well penned. Thanks. Tiffany J. (Red_October) |
