Revenge is an addiction that leaves you cold,
and I've seen it before I was old
enough to understand why they hate us so.
I absorb the news and try to know,
know why I can't walk to the east
without guns going off, at least
they're not killing me for me, but the country I live in.
If it ends here, or if if it begins
is unimportant now, somehow
I vow I'll bow
my head and pray with you,
Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, and Jew,
and pray that maybe we've all sacrificed enough.
But in my heart and eyes, I know.
It's never enough.

this seriously put tears in my eyes. It's so
beautiful and I too hate the religious violence
that plagues our world. it's nice to see
someone writing about loving and respecting
all religions instead of loving only those who
subscribe to your own narrow beliefs. I loved
this poem thanks for sharing.

Nay, it never ends in this world, sadly.
Life on this earth is good and evil, light and darkness so heart-wrenchingly mixed. Fighting even for Light is not perfect, and Light is so hard to recognize sometimes.
Good piece.
