Different, different it's all so different
New places, Different people
Wishes and dreams remain the same
Old hurts still stay
Expectations thwarted
Trust given freely, too early?
Will I ever learn?
Familiar shattering
repeated disappointments
Ignorance is bliss
Will I ever escape the glass house?
Yearning for something
Gaining nothing, only ruined hope
Over and over the same story
Each time different from the last
Yet, so clearly the same
Different, different... yet all the same
Same people, just different faces
Repetition haunts me, while reality chokes

I understand what your poem is saying, but you know, only you can break the cycle. This is what I got out of your piece. One can change their disappointments if they just get it. Repetition is done when someone repeats the chain. Made me think, therefore, it deserved a good rating. |
