°°°People in Chat°°°

Contributed by OreO on Tuesday, 26th November 2002 @ 04:40:00 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Enter a room, people don't even speak
Never saying a word, you could sit there a week
Nobody knows each others pain and suffering
They just go on laughing, while your whole world's crumbling

People used to care for one another
Now when I look, they hardly even bother
They keep their friends, good times or bad
Wrong or right, to me this is very sad

Poems, heartaches, things of the heart and mind
These people you see, they don't know they are blind
If they ask are you ok, you look at them and say
Yes i'm fine, I'm ok, and then they go on there way

People never take the time to really look inside
In their typing, in the way they speak, where it all abides
When you speak people say shut up or click
Not knowing what it does to a person who's sick

I've learned if your silent, and never say a word
They'll see nothing here, you won't have to be heard
You can watch the pm's and the room down below
And never say a word, and eventually they'll go

Friends is a word, meaning nothing to me anymore
That one word is why my heart got torn
People say it's just chat, go ahead and die
Words on a screen, i watch, hide and cry

Why do people pretend to be somthing they're not
It's not to escape life's trouble's and what not
I've tried to be somthing im not before
It was really hard to do, it was quite a chore

If you can't be yourself and you have to be fake
Then what do you gain in this life that you make?
If all you can do is lie or stab someone in the heart
Then perhaps you need to find a fresh new start

Till the end of my time i will wonder why people are so cold
Never giving a chance, just acting so bold
Past things keep them bound, and change's their attitude
They'll never be honest, they'll never be true

it's really sad but i don't think it's too different from how people act in any time or place. sometimes i guess you just have to ignore the ppl like that, eventhough they never really go away..

nice one btw

A good poem, and I'm sad to know you feel that way. I have some very close friends from Chat and they make all the nasty, thoughtless people worth the annoyance.

I have often found that people hide behind a mask of false bravado, And yes I have been there myself, so I feel that I know that they are there to hide from the insecurities that surround them. And some strike out at others only to feel secure in themselves. Heartless and cold you might say, YES, but understandible. It's the only way they can face others and not feel that they are small and insignificant.

A very good write,
wordsy.
