I can’t see through my eyes
I refuse to breathe
May I rest in peace
Within my dreams
I will not be alone
Opening my eyes as if reborn
I can see deep within you
Entertaining me with your thoughts
Bravo!
Excellent!
I am but an old woman now
Tortured with such a sight
Such a rare gift given to me
Using it and abusing its true nature
I found how difficult it was
When I saw what I didn’t want to see
Such sadness, abuse, neglect, misery of their own
All of it such a burden to me
With fifty years of “one's” misery
Swimming inside of me
