I had a dream
that I was you
and woke up wondering:
What if it were true?
If I were you I could change the world,
make it anything I wanted it to be.
I could give the flower all new names
and make them grow for only me.
I could give my money to the poor,
and cure hunger, too.
I could stop the world's pollution,
if only I were you.
I would give the people a brand new faith.
Make way for a new world peace!
I would allow no more suffering,
all hatred and anger would cease.
I would educate the youth,
give them a bright future to hope for.
I'd take away all the pain in this world
and sorrow would be no more.
But a dream is just that,
I will never be you.
But I'd do a great job
if it were true.
