Sitting On The Moon

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 9th December 2004 @ 06:34:16 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am sitting on the moon,
Hoping that you will come back to me soon,
I gaze into the starry sky,
Wishing I had wings so I could fly.

Fly straight to where you are now,
I really want to but I don’t know how,
My love for you is like a red, red rose,
You are the voice I hear when the wind blows.

I think the moon can feel my pain,
As his once happy face shows the strain,
He hands me a tissue as a single tear falls,
I push it away as I hear unhappiness call.

I miss you so much when you’re not here,
My heart feels at ease when you are near,
But here I will sit until you return,
For your loving embrace my heart does yearn.

I lay on the moon as I cry myself to sleep,
The moon seems sad as he hates it when I weep,
When I wake you’ll be back by my side,
No longer behind my tears my face will have to hide
