untitled

Topic: toughstuff

you play with my feelings like its no big deal
you treat me like a plastic toy,not even real
you have caused me to shed so many tears
you soon became one of my worst fears
you always made sure i knew you ruled over me
even if it ment having to physically hurt me
i knew everything you did to me was wrong
but i thought i loved you so with it i went along
i always said i was sorry even if i knew you had caused the pain
but i thought if i were to forgive you, you would start to love me again
it was like you had me under a spell
and when someone actually showed me love, i couldn't tell
so instead of getting away i sat in a corner, to afraid to even see daylight
until i realized the only way to win my battles was to fight
never will i have to deal with you again
because i fought my battle and i won
someday someone will come along playing the same game as you
except they'll be playing tougher and harder and they'll beat you
so while you are suffering and crying endlessly
i'll be gone and living my life happily

Love the poem first of all. Very deep and full of pain and sorrow. second of all, the title. As I was reading it, the only word in my mind was escape... What ever you choose, its still a great poem. lonithion

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
