Christmas Bells

I heard the bells on Christmas morn,
Tolling music for the soul,
Yet time itself stood still for me,
Wherever I choose to go.
The pines stood proud in robes of white,
While the birds sang gay and free,
But as for this bone weary wretch,
No comfort came to me.
That day so blessed with love and peace,
Had finally came and gone,
And by the fire I sat and cried,
Oh God,why am I still alone?
