Freedom

Contributed by zenmind on Wednesday, 8th December 2004 @ 06:53:09 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

"He's a flip flopper."
George Bush is crying at his mother's grave.
"He's a flip flopper!", he cries,
"A shot in the mouth, tounge tied, chop toothed assult rifle."

Freedom rings true,
this foul morning.

Cry heavenly whispers,
and an answer told will be short.
A shout farther west. WAKE UP,
into the night shouting frantically,
"Mother! Father! Save me.
Take me to the shore of infinity"

This is of course all George Bush's doing.
His money grubbed antlers hang Christmas lights in Iraq.

Thank God for freedom,
and Jesus too.

Thank God that freedom is in Iraq.
That soft bombs only strike civilians,
children carry hand guns,
and husbands carry their dead wives.

Thank God for this freedom of democracy,
of money,
of capitalism,
of grief.
Thank God for this war on terror and the freedom it brings.

I swear the news told a lie and actually freedom,
does not exist.
Am I a communist?
A Terrorist?
Against freedom?

I am against the false pretense of "free America"
I am against slavery.
I am against this consumer age.

I bought new shoes.
My hummer is outside waiting next to dying flowers.
Next to forbidden crossings of time and space.
Where we must kneal to see the slightest grain.
A rock blown a million years apart,
dropped suddenly at the site of eyes passing.

Freedom speaks in the trees
and flowers
and wind
and death
and this rock.

Silent, without a face

Haha. I see you got another "interesting" comment. Or wait the best ones are the "pen -on, you are talented." Phew. Those tickle the corners of my cacckling heart. What?

LIsten as much as I am NOT into politics, no bra burning for me, I havent come near a voting booth EVER, what is a president? I found this poem enjoyable in it's LANGUAGE. I am not going to preach "freedom" revelations based on it but I will quote a few "oddly odd odd" lines from the poem.

"His money grubbed antlers hang Christmas lights in Iraq."----grubbed? dictionary.com awaits me. clever line.

"Thank God for freedom,
and Jesus too."---if i wasnt sitting on my wooden floor I would have fallen off
my chair. hilarious.

"I bought new shoes.
My hummer is outside waiting next to dying flowers.
Next to forbidden crossings of time and space.
Where we must kneal to see the slightest grain.
A rock blown a million years apart,
dropped suddenly at the site of eyes passing."----humor with irony mixed in with grace, sprinckled with some cleverness...and you got dirty shoes...

I did buy new shoes today...now I feel like i betrayed my country...but wait...I am only an immigrant.

nice.
