Choices and Decisions.

Contributed by DarkInTheWater on Wednesday, 8th December 2004 @ 12:06:12 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Suffice to say, no one wanted to see
The body ripped, limb from limb.
Devastatingly clear of how fragile life was
Of how frail we were. It gave proportion
A sense of what we really were,
It scared and shocked all for the most part,
Others grew angry in embarassment.
I ducked behind the crowd and drew breath
It came hard and sharp, it slithered in me
Upwards, seeking the light, it spilled
In strips of realisation, the vomit poured
Leaked onto the ground. Each wound stabbing
In my eyes, with each dreaded, cleaning retch.
I staggered, empty, away, I didn't need or want
To be with the remnants of life. I wanted
To escape, I needed to clog my memory
With uselessness, just to erase this partial
Impure state of the human body.
Falling to my knees a voice greeted me,
Dark and deep, soothing to hear
A wolf of great size, admirable, at the least
He spoke softly, the kind of comforting voice
That I needed to hear. I knew then that he was right
Life was just an introduction, what came after
Would be sublime. I heeded his call, accepted
His offer laid down, looking forward, slipped
Into unconsciousness, through belief and want
As he began to dismember me.

Goodness! That was incredible. All the time I kept thinking that the writer was witnessing the crucifixion. BRAVO! An excellent and meaningful write.
