I wake in the morning to lingering warmth
the heat of last night’s kiss.........
breathing away a lonely life
shades of dark...morning easing slowly into light.....
as we join hands, I remember that once upon a time you had said
we all have a soul mate…and perhaps I may be yours
then you wrote me a poem
you touched me where few know
stirring my body.... my heart...
awakening my soul
in this perfect love
as we melt together
I don’t long for promises of eternal bliss
just this moment as the sun’s warmth wraps me into you
our bodies filled with the magic of dawn’s dancing sky
interweaving the fabric of two lives with threads of gold

With threads of God and yet, yes yet, sadly we do get old. Time to think about eternity- at least for the one you love. And, hopefully your poetic self. :)
