Science

Topic: LovePoetry

You know my mother was wrong,
I have no need for science.
I’d rather sing you a song
Or write you a little love poem.

Words are all that matter,
Just ask the mad hatter
When he’s at the tea party,
Rattling off his riddles.

Science is too impersonal,
No room for any emotion.
Certainty rules out the possibility
Of anything other than digits

And baby, all the numbers I’ll ever need,
I can count on one hand.
One and two and
Basic arithmetic is where I draw the line.

Because one and one is two
And I’m nothing without you.
Girl, keep the addition sign forever
And we’ll keep being madly in love like never.

What’s the point of learning
The name of every plant and seed
When there’s only one that comes to mind
That I’ll ever really need.

It flew our way, very long ago,
Perhaps riding on the wind.
It’s been growing ever since,
More beautiful than any other,

And it doesn’t have a boring name,
Nothing long or Latin.
Only has four letters
That will always spell out “love”.

I threw science out the window
And the words
As quickly as calculations flow,
Yet they carry the weight of the world upon them.

I most certainly am, most intrigued...fixated, even, upon these words... public words, yet so intimate. Your pieces, offer this barren world, much more than you, so carefully fashion them.
Latin... medical terminology... interesting that you utilise this hybrized technique...
As do I!
Medicine is most powerful, thus, allowing for greater perspective.
As a fan of Romanticism -I am entirely swooned!
Lovely, lovely.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
