Final Ray of Sunshine

A sky of one blue
Over a hill of many greys
Near a lake of clear steel
A parting of ways
As now fall slips past
And winter looms near
But today it is bright
One last day it's clear
And yet here I am
In a room of off white
In a building of brick
Under false light
How my heart wants to go
To run free in cool breeze
Free of these barriers
Under stark barren trees
The air'd clear my lungs
The sun, warm my face
I just want to be out
Free of this place
