In Silence

Contributed by merry on Monday, 6th December 2004 @ 07:40:50 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Quiet now – never a sound
Silent as the grave
Walking through the town
I can see you
A shadow beside me
As if we still knew one another
When talking was easy
And laughter fit your mouth
Breathing in the stillness
You have become
What you said you were
As if death has claimed you
Yet left you behind
In silence

I know that feeling of grasping at the silence when there is nothing else left to hold onto, but you have put it into words.
