The death of Amercia

Contributed by BlindSuicide on Monday, 6th December 2004 @ 04:43:42 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

I often wonder what the terrorists think they accomplished
Sacrificing their life to take another
I hope they got the rush they were searching for when they finished
Buildings weren't the only thing torn apart that day
Familes and friends were seperated with just one last goodbye to say
That tragic day will be rememberd for years
But now all the people are living their life in fear
I wonder if that will remain the same?
The way Amercia has become is such a shame

It's gotten so bad i can't even watch T.v
I quickly turn it off disgusted at the things i see
A man intoxicating himself with smallpox intentionally
If that happens we all know what the outcome will be
The director can't be that dumb.. can he?
It's just putting more ideas in the terrorist's head
If that happens how many more innocent people will be dead?

I hate the news they never have anything good to say
I hear about death and murder every single day
What has the Amercian society become?
I don't waste my time trying to understand because it makes me feel so dumb

I support the soldiers all the way
But will we ever be free of war one day?
We are supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave
But we're prisioners and we're digging our own grave

I really like, it shows truth that most people don't like to talk about. I think it's one of the better poems I've seen on this site. THe biggest flaw I see, is how America is spelled wrong, but you've already cauhgt that mistake.

You did a great job. Your ending was wonderful:

"We are supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave
But we're prisioners and we're digging our own grave"

No truer words have been spoken,

J~

An awesome write, and the way you present by asking some profound questions challanges us all to think. Yes it is depressing, even though we are so much better off then many: but that brings with it some responsability.

Courageous write, excellant poem
