How can a mouse run through a cage,
non stop and never leave a trace?
Maybe a trace of phecies will be left
and his brother might be found dead, choking.
Or maybe a cat will crawl through this maze,
and find that he can never deliver
silver dollar coins.
And the cat will wax the wood,
hard, floor, with an axe to grind into the mud after.
These termites are tearing them in two.
A face full of memories tell a story of graves,
tombstones, and bright smiling teeth, white,
with yellow stains, and tooth decay, on the rise.
It is covered up.
Greetings to all of these transparent images.
Believe the strory already spoken.
3 blind mice, The cat in the hat,
all stories of shame and smiles.
HA! Believe the stories you tell yourself,
one lie too many.
A head rush will follow.
Grab your knees with your hands clenched,
short of breath, blind sight vision.
Awake in a white sterile prison,
grey bars petruding, knives out.
Sleep. Wake up. Breathe.
A second time now, repeat.
Breathe
Standard methods of therapy usually tell you these things.
Excercise 3 times a week.
Eat healthy. No snacks between meals.
Good job. Six figure salary.
Beautiful wife. 2.5 kids.
A TV in every room!
You will go blind in 20 years,
and a "no vacancy" light will turn on.
Next go your ears.
You will no longer hear your own voice crack.
And your cries will only be internal.
You will spend every day dreaming of a life,
that you will never experience,
and you will regret the day of submission.

Some very interesting things in here ... I'm not entirely certain what they all mean ... but that is the beauty of poetry ... the reader gets to discover for themselves the meaning as they see it ... and with each read something new pops out here ...

You little odd ball! I love images that turn into mind-f*cks...good poetry doesnt have to be (it cant be!) straight forward love lost, grandma died, want to commit cliche suicide writing. Words are beautiful to play around with, words and images! God I am so glad somebody out there is thinking outside of the box (what box? there is no box, it's a scam.)
seriously good kick in the mental ass. Thank you. |
