Unforgettable you

Grief

I don't want to forget you.
The way your lips curled up in that mischevious grin,
those big, green, compassionate eyes you relentlessly tried to hide.
That frail body of yours that consumed more food in one day than I could in four.
I don't want to forget my brother,
I miss him.
My heart seems to ache like a pulsating open wound,
the kind of pounding that won't go away,
you can always feel it, always hear it.
Its hard to breathe knowing you can't.
Its hard to see the things you loved so passionately, knowing your eyes never will.
Each day I wake, knowing all I have of you are memories...
memories that bring a smile to my face, a glint of sadness to my eyes.
It hurts me so much.
A chunk of my heart has been ripped from my chest,
I wish I could replace it.
A piece of me dies all over again, just knowing,
I'll never get to see you smile,
I'll never get to hear you breathe,
I'll never get to watch you laugh.
