Dear Mr. Bin Laden,
This is America. We are very sad.
Why have you gone insane.
Why have you gone so very mad?
We have given to your people.
We have fed and clothed your poor.
We have given our hearts and love.
We have opened our front door.
We have bought from your soil.
We have respected your faith.
We have honored your differences
We have delighted in your race.
So why, Mr. Laden, why
Why have you been so mean?
This should not have been a war so dirty
It should have been a friendship so clean.
We would have shook hands. Shared drink.
We would have shared our lives.
But you have done us wrong. You have stabbed.
Stabbed. Stabbed. A thousand knives.
