Every morning, he wakes up
And puts his happy face on.
Going through the day
Looking cheerful
And delighting those around him
With his smile and charm.
What they don’t know
It’s just a front
On the inside
Desperate for love
And wanting to give up.
But on the outside,
That smiling face,
Never showing how he truly feels.
Finally this defense
Comes plummeting to the ground.
This time, this day,
The pain visible on his face.
Making people wonder
What happened to their friend.
