I look in the mirror just to see
The man who always sickens me
With great disgust I look away
For there he rests and there he'll stay
I can't escape his darkened soul
His peircing eyes, black as coal
Never will I find a place
Where I won't have to see his face
This man who haunts my every step
And in my mind he's always crept
I've always tried to cast aside
His wicked ways and sinful pride
I soon realize what cannot be
The one I've hated was always me

Sometimes I think introspection and self discovery is the true purpose of poetry.
