Good night you Dogie

There’s a full moon tonight
as we sit around the ole camp fire
you can hear the cows a-bawlin’
as we wait away the hour
John pulls out a worn out book
and starts to read a cowboy poem
Somehow when he does this
you never seem far from home
“Good night - good night you dogie
it’s time to settle down
good night - good night you dogie
tomorrow we’re homeward bound”

Great poem, I can hear the fire crackling and see the shadows of the cows in the distance. Wanna go tip one? ; ) I couldn't resist asking that. I actually knew someone that went cow tipping. Funny stuff. Enjoyed your poem alot though. |
