A Piece Of Stone

A Piece Of Stone

I used to be the center piece
I've stood here since 1863
Below me is a lies a veteran
A veteran who fought the war of Lincoln
I have stood the ages prettry well
Now weathered and cracked, but have a story to tell
The spirit of the captain resides with me
Together we watch and see
O' yes spirits have sight
And the captain I'm his might
We have seen scrondols
We have watched them come and go
Boiterous and loud
Leaders of no crowd
If I may
Just the other day
Actually it was after midnight
When this rabble came into sight
My spirit and I
You might say we spy
This punk was pushing over grave stones
Thinking he was brave here all alone
We were watching as he paused
The rabble without a cause
Tipping markers and breaking some
The lonesome bum
There he is coming this way
At my base I hope he chooses not to stay
Under the cover of a partical moon
A starless night the stupid goon
He's now shaking at my base
The capatians spirit will not be discraced
A pistol in my left hand made of cement
A sword in my right as I relent
This hood will surly pay
Capatain spirit what yo'all say
My left hand breaks at my wrist
Falling with a thud
That punky thug
He laughts
Doesn't know capatain was killed by a cannon blast
He's leaning shaking with all his might
This surly will be his last night
The sword broke off from my right hand
Fell cross the neck of this hooligan
His body now laying there in a pool of blood
His head rolled over there in the bloody mud
Morning will surly come
Cemetery workers will again wonder what happen
Now this doesn't happen all that often
Dare say capatian left a wife and two orphans
Watch out those who do nasty deeds
Never know who is watching or who might see

Sinned
