Darling departed, how I miss thee,
I see you in the fleeting breeze.
You run along the khaki sidewalk,
And dance between a twirl of leaves.
Your skirt is a symphony of orange and yellow,
It gleams with the radiance of the sun.
Your hair makes love to the silver wind,
Flowing about your smiling face.
The sapphire sky looks down with envy,
It whispers a warning at your nape.
You run along the khaki sidewalk,
And leave me in your silent wake.

Wow, this is I think maybe my favorite nature poem. Everything flowed so well and the words just painted vivid images in my mind. Great metaphorical use for Autumn. I really enjoyed this, and Im glad you put it on here.

I thought to read some for all you've read of mine!
And this was a good place to start, for sure. I'm open to any kind of poetry on almost any subject since I like execution the most. Your execution was great here with the colors, which embody autumn perfectly. It's the type of ideal autumn setting that I think of with the beautiful and vibrant browns, reds, and yellows that strike against the sky regardless of the time of day.
I like how her hair makes love to the silver wind, too. I can picture this just as easily and I am enjoying it all the way around. :)
Great work.
