Your name is never far from my lips.
Your cup of love is from which I sip.
Your heart never far from my thoughts,
for in your soul am I caught.
Your sadness and trouble are my pain.
They stick with me like a summer rain.
Helpless do I sit and fret,
knowing your needs I have not met.
Do not think I would neglect,
To love, nurture and protect.
Love, joy, pain or sorrow?
I constantly worry about the morrow.
Will you stay or will you go?
Of the future I do not know.
But like the waves, crashing on the shore.
My love for you grows ever more.
The fear I have of when you leave,
makes me want even more to cleave.
To hold on tight and not let go,
to keep you by my side,
to love you so.
But alas, apart we stay.
For other’s lives mean more this day.
Surrendering only part do we,
for sometimes clearly we both do see.
A moment here a moment there,
merely a brief touch we share.
But deep inside our lives are bound,
A love so deep, forever, I’ve found.
So I take another day,
joy to see you,
broken as you go away.
A glimpse of you is worth the wait.
You will be for now and then,
my hidden mate.
