I Know You Hurt

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 2nd December 2004 @ 07:44:39 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I know you hurt & I hate it so,
I hate seeing you suffer your daily blow,
Another day has past without your kids,
On your feelings you’ve tried to shut the lid.

I can’t do anything to help you at all,
Only to watch your heart suffer another fall,
I try to understand how you must feel,
As I am not motherly, but to you the heartaches real.

I feel bad that I can’t appreciate your pain,
All I do is see you go through it again,
I wish I could cuddle away all your hurt,
Stop your love & feelings from being burnt.

You are scared April will grow up without you,
You think she’s forgotten you which makes you blue,
You think about her while you lay there in bed,
Painful memories dance about in your head.

I really want to feel like you but I never will,
As in me there is no parental love to spill,
I am sorry that I can’t help you anymore,
All I want is to stop your heart feeling sore.

You close up like a winter flower,
Feeling like you have lost all your Daddy power,
I know you long to hold her in your loving arms,
Your daughter is your lifetime of lucky charms.

I feel so sad as you are such a wonderful man,
I know to see her you’ll do all you can,
Please know that I’ll be here forever by your side,
It hurts me to know that for your pain you have cried.

One things for sure pix, least he knows you are there to support him. Which is the only thing you can do during these difficult times.

This is such a sad poem. I wish there was a magic wand we could use to just take away our closest friends pain when they need it...or that we could just take it upon ourselves and give them a break. It is a great write....expressed wonderfully....I hope this Daddy figure gets to see his daughter. Sets me wondering if MY father ever thought like that....felt like that....of ever regretted his mistakes....who knows. who cares? I don't. But I feel bad for this person. =(
