She'll Name It

Contributed by SLiM_eLviS on Wednesday, 1st December 2004 @ 11:43:50 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

To those you held up high
that brought you to the ground
To those who easily had your love
That hurt and took you down
I know you drank their acid
and concealed it.

So dirt was thrown upon you
by those in whom you trust
Though I gave my heart to you
In the rain you let it rust

But with the heart you sat in rain
Though to me you said goodbye
Yet still you came back everyday
and now I wonder ""why?""

I am greatful for you
I appreciate you
I'll take you for a fool
before I take you for granted
a friend to me you've been

Though you say that times are meant to be
In the end I will be blue
Because sometimes I think
I'm just another fool

So know that we are only men
and you make us what we are
the only diffirence in us is
the purity at heart
and those who humbled now
exalted in the heavens they shall be
and I wish because I loved you so
in the heavens you'll love me

I tried to take you out the dirt
but my struggle wasn't free
and even though I did not know
it too landed on me.

Now of this I did not mind
or did I even care
because inside my heart I could not fight
the feelings that were there

Again I say to you
that we are only men
and if inside your heart you knew
that nothing is pretend

There's nothing special about us
but what you say we are
cause from what you tag us with
we are very far.

I thank the Lord today
for granting me your heart
because though I don't own it
I know it from a-far
and even though you loved another
in your heart there's some of me
and it's still so close that when you close your eyes
I'm the one that falls asleep.
