My Prayers Were Answered

Contributed by WIldfireRose on Wednesday, 1st December 2004 @ 09:48:02 PM in AEST
Topic: ThankYouPoems

I used to pray,
Everynight and everyday,
That he,
Would someday love me,
As tears fell down my cheek; I begged and pleaded with the Lord above,
To make him feel for me love,
And while I wasn't watching,
While I wasn't listening,
Something happened between he and I; the greatest friendship that has ever been,
If only I could have seen,
But I do now; and I see that everyday our friendship grew a thousand times more than it was the day before,
Every moment I spend with him is the best moment of my entire life; he is my best friend,
And he will be until the end,
We are as close as family,
Brother and Sister are we,
And to tell the truth, my prayers were answered; he does love me,
So I set my pain free,
He does care and he tells me so,
And you know,
My prayers were answered after all; for he has helped me so much,
And I love him dearly, He is my brother,
My heart he did gently touch,
And there is no other,
Like him; he took all my pain away,
And helped me see life in a new way,
Thank you Lord for answering my prayers, because you always do,
And there is no one greater then you.
:)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
