It's painful
For even though I'm surrounded,
by people who call themselves friends
I am somehow more alone than by myself.
Plaster a smile on my face,
oh how it stings and rips up my frail cheeks
streaked with bloody lines from my knife
pretend I'm happy with this cut out smile.
When was even the last time
I wasn't hiding behind this with my sorrow
Waiting alone and cold
Myself is my only dissatisfaction.
Words are hammered into my cracking skull
Trying to pass through to my brain
Yet all in vain
I am too stupid.
These haunting images of glee
Feel that they must torment me
My wilting skin
Sopping with fluidy life
Crumbling in their grasp of grins
Numbed by pain
Feeling inane
I close my eyes
From this land of lies.
