the life she once lead

Contributed by deathly_rose on Wednesday, 1st December 2004 @ 07:11:33 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

A shattered life she leads,
afraid to stride out that door.
Scared of what may happen,
scared of who she may lose.
The pain that is held inside of her frail body,
Is growing in capacity, growing in strength,
She cannot keep up this fight much longer,
She’s losing her life.
Watching the world pass her by,
She stares out her window.
Sitting with her hands on her lap,
Clenching her fists tight,
Not showing the object contained in her hand.
Small children with their mother walk by her window,
Prancing and dancing, laughing and playing.
A tear runs down her cheek, as she whishes she were like that,
Remembering the object within her hand,
She unclenches her fists.
The blade shimmers so beautifully,
The light dances on the walls.
She places the knife into one hand,
Grasping the handle tightly,
She aims it towards her heart.
She places it above her chest,
slightly putting pressure,
she adds more and more, as the tears get thicker.
She pushes it closer, the pain takes over her body,
With a small scream she pushes it in,
Slowly it deepens, pain arises.
Mommy Mommy!
She hears a girl yell,
The light from the other room removes all of the shadows.
Daddy Daddy, come quick! Mommy is hurt,
There is red blood everywhere it’s coming from beneath her shirt!
Footsteps come rapidly closer to the mother’s tortured body,
To her aid comes her husband, the ambulance soon came.
Within the bed she now lays, alive yet not,
Thoughts of that day, replay amongst her mind.
