A conversation with myself...

Contributed by Unheard_Mute on Wednesday, 1st December 2004 @ 05:20:11 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

What? Who's there? Hello?

Only silence did follow,
I began to think, maybe I misheard,
Till I only sat up and muttered,

I am crazy, I have lost my mind,
Now I'm not only a mute, but now I'm blind.

You're not blind my friend, you're just starting to see,
And I am the one that will set you free,
You are a mute, so I will speak for you,
And I will speak right, and I will speak true.

Who's there!? Get away from me!
Take what you want and let me be.

Silly boy, I want no possessions, nor cause you harm,
Calm your heart, no need for alarm,
I am your friend, your only true one at that,
And all I want to do is sit here and chat,

His voice, didn't echo from the room,
But it sounded as if it came from my mind's vacuum,

Quite so, I reside in your head,
I hear every word thought, and every word said,
I'm here to help, so please don't fret,
Listen to me, I promise you won't regret,

I was crazy, and I couldn't not fear,

What's going on, why are you here?

Silly child, I'm here to help,
And you need it so, you unheard whelp.

Help with what? What help do I need?
I thought I was going to die here alone today, as with God I agreed.

Die? Oh heaven's my, no,
Quite so, I need you more than you know,
And you need me, of this is apparent,
You and I, my friend, are coherent.

Need you!? I need not a thing!
I am a slave to nothing.
My mind is my own, you have no part,
I need you not, now let us end this, before it will start.

Not a slave? You truly are a fool,
All are slaves, all in this cesspool.
You are the same, in every way,
Your mind is already dead, it already began to decay,
A slave you are, mine who's path to choose,
Mine to control, mine to abuse,
You think that you know true hurt?
Don't do as I say, I'll show you up till now, it's only been discomfort...

::wide eyes:: complete brilliance. this was so good that the two voices had different tones. not many can pull that off. many arent smart enough to think of that. ::admits i wasnt either, until i noticed it in your poem:: ::still awed at greatness:: =] i loved this. the last stanza was exceptional. i could go on, but you get the point.
