Imperfect Daughter

Contributed by EternalNight4x on Wednesday, 1st December 2004 @ 04:00:16 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I’m your imperfect daughter
With a shattered soul
All the years of discontent with me
Have finally taken their toll

You believed all my lies
But the truth you denied
Neglecting to realize
That in many ways I’ve died

You know nothing about me
Or what goes through my mind
My morose desires
To this you are blind

You brought me to earth
So why can’t you tell?
That I am imprisoned
In my own internal hell

I’m your own flesh and blood
But you leave me ignored
Never realizing how much
My heart has been torn

Never asking how my day went
Was it good or was it bad?
A distant connection
Was all we ever had

You were oblivious to my actions
And my self-inflicted pain
While my sisters sucked you dry
With none of your love left to gain

I’m your imperfect daughter
Through the darkness I do crawl
I’m the daughter that you wish
Was never born at all

I felt this way too, cept my 'real' dad was never around to begin with. It really sux how he's not around to ask me how my day was. This was greatly written though. Keep your head up high!
