Feint of Love

Though you look you never see
The wickedness inside of me
The man within deserves revile
But he is hidden by my smile
You do not know the things I’ve done
All in the name of having fun
For some strange reason I’m enthralled
By things that should leave me appalled
I hurt you yet you do not know
Because I put on quite a show
I play upon your deepest fears
And secretly enjoy your tears
I act so sweet I act so warm
And you buy all that I perform
But once I take your guard away
That’s when my demons come to play
I’ll break your mind and shred your soul
And then resume my “loving” role
People claim my ways aren’t fair
But fact remains that I don’t care

You certainly remind me of someone I once knew. Quite a write. These are dark, but honest and deep. Nice stuff.
