I'm happy as can be
Why can't you tell?
Ok I'm lying
I'm in a living hell
I'll tell you straight up
I want some attention now
I try so hard to get it from you
But it doesn't work and I don't know how
You treat my brother and sister like royalty
They get all your attention and everything
I feel like I don't exist
Like I'm hanging from a string
I can't even remember
The last time you said I love you
Don't act like I'm talking gibberish
You know this is all true.
Please acknowledge me being here
I'm still young and need you
Dad already left me,
So mom, please don't you leave me too.

i just posted a poem about my dad leaving tonight, so i know how it feels to wonder what happens if your mom leaves too. you do need her and her love, but you need to find out why she is neglectful. if you dont know why, how do you solve the problem? |

This is a sad poem, but written well. I can relate on some level although my parents are still here. Great expression of feelings, keep writing!
