That Terrible Room

Contributed by bruised_hands08 on Tuesday, 30th November 2004 @ 05:45:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

i think he stopped caring a long time ago.
i think i stopped searching when ice turned to snow.
i think i stopped breathing that very same day...
when he made up his mind and he just walked away.

i wanted to stop him, keep him by my side.
instead i just lost it, i broke down and cried.
when i think of our love, i try to be strong.
but his heart had been black for so very long.

i don't believe there was even a chance.
we fell right apart on that very last dance.
in the small cozy room where we sat and we cried.
in the terrible room where love wilted and died.

his eyes were so empty... the blueness had gone.
but somehow they called me, they sang me a song.
i wanted to keep him, but he walked away.
and my heart is still broken to this very day.

Love is such a twisted emotion isn't it? Here today, gone tomorrow - forever haunting. So often we women do carry hearts forever broken........leaves me to wonder if they might too........not that we'll ever know....

Beautiful, sad write. Awesomely written. Thanks for sharing!

Wow... thank you guys so much for responding so wonderfully to my poetry. I haven't gotten this many comments (in this short of time) ever! While I do admit that this is not my best work, I am very greatful that it touched you all. I just really wanted to say thanks for supporting me, I had almost given up on people enjoying my work. The funny thing is: this is not my favorite. :) Anyways, thanks.
