You (Revised)

Contributed by HellsLibrarian on Tuesday, 30th November 2004 @ 04:44:12 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

You ask me
what I want
and I say
many things
but

what I really want. . .

is a friendly face in a
crowded room of suspicious stares
a tender voice in a
bitter sea of harsh curses
a strong shoulder to support me
when I’m spent and weary
a sturdy shoulder to cry on
when I’ve no more strength to bear
someone to cuddle me
when I feel all warm and sleepy
someone to hold me
when I’m feeling small and weak
a soft kiss and a quiet sigh
at each parting
a beloved companion to miss me
when I’m gone
someone to laugh and dance and play with
quirky and mischievous
someone to live and learn and dream with
patient and tear-worthy

. . . you

nice touch for ur person. resembles same thoughts as from my poems. speech will have a different tone when you are in a crowd as from when you are with your love.

Beautifully written, in verse that flowed, adding strength to your words, an out pouring of emotions capturing the feeling within.

I loved this! The way you start out hesitantly and then the feelings just flow in an outpouring of emotion. Well done, HL. I'm sure this piece speaks for alot of us. ;o) Peace to you.
