Nightmares

I used the think I was all alone
A four-eyed freak with no back bone
But then I learned she had them too
I wonder who she is...

She came out of nowhere just outa the blue
And I thought "Hey! I'm a little bit like you!"
It's nice to know someone who has them too
Wanna be my friend?

But I'm afraid my case is a lot worse than hers
At night my body is nothing but shivers
I hide myself so I won't have to explain
That my nightmares are killing me...

I wish someone would take them away
They haunt my night and haunt my day
I'm always on my guard and ready to run
They like me for some reason...

So far noone's come to assist
So I'll just keep on slashing my wrist
In hope I won't keep getting dissed
I wish they would come...

Now there are some people who think they can analyze dreams
They'll look you in the eyes and say they aren't what they seem
And actually expect you to believe what they mean
They're so hard to trust...

But what about me who can't sleep at night?
I'm seventeen years old and still use a night light
So don't you tell me that my dreams aren't what they seem
Because I don't believe you!

There's got to be someone who can help me out
So I can sit up and look about
Without fearing that my nightmares will turn me around
And look me in the eye...

Til that day comes I'll still be here
Tucked under my covers and sweating with fear
Trying not to acknowledge that my nightmares are near
I wish they'd go away...

This was pretty intense. I've had some nightmare doozies before not for a long time though. Usually dreams are telling us something. Have you spoke with your doctor about this? You may need some counseling, figure out why you're having the nightmares. Maybe some medication to help you sleep at night. I had the same problem with a light on at night though(I slept with a small lamp on) and was so ashamed. Don't you be. Hang in there. Let the let shine on. Much peace.

awsome write, i loved it soo much, but heres a tid bit from me, even though your nightmares may not be a very good thing, its better than not dreaming at all, becauase when you never dream, its hard to tell if your nightmares are your life, or your life is the nightmare
