The Piano 2

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Monday, 29th November 2004 @ 06:56:22 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

A need to vent once more,
The pianist sits behind her piano,
Hands poised and ready…
Flesh meets ivory,
And music is formed…
Tinkling, agonizingly slow,
A tantalizing Melodie,
Flooding her desolate room…
Memories rush through her fingertips,
The rhythm quickens…
Such haste,
Such inhuman splendor,
This enigmatic symphony!
She plays,
Not for the invisible audience,
But for herself,
For the hunger that lingers within her still…
Body swaying elegantly with the enchanting sound,
Eyes half closed with ecstasy…
Graceful fingers pound on the soft keys,
A ravenous desire coursing inside,
Only to be satiated by the comforting feel of cool ivory…
La Luna smiling melancholically,
Shining brilliantly through her window,
Illuminating her perpetual confinement,
Yet she needs not the sense of sight…
Only the smells of the Night air around her,
Only the sounds of her obscure sonata,
And the touch of her precious piano…
The concerto softens,
And so does her heart…
Reveries of her love,
Pouring through without a care…
Ah, such sweet bliss,
Those pools of green,
Those rose-like lips,
Those enticing words he speaks…
Tonight, she is Beethoven…
Tonight, she plays only for him…

Tonight, she is free…

Exquisite. If music be the food of love play on.
Such a melody that lingers in my mind.
This was magnificent FleurdeSang.
Music that fills my heart and soul

How could he help but not to hear, as sound travels upon un-erring winds to share with him the voice of Melodie ?

Standing ovation. Another picture perfect image forms within the mind of the reader.

Bravo Steph
