Drunk

Contributed by clementine on Monday, 29th November 2004 @ 02:19:15 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Been out drinking since seven
It's now a quarter past two
A lonely bar stool next to me
And some other girl next to you

The bartender's telling jokes
While the band plays in the back
The colors I’m so used to seeing
are fading into black

A drunken girl turning down a desperate man
A desperate man wanting drunken sex
He’s hoping to find at least one who’s willing
to show her naked world to him in his bed

Another shot of whisky, please
as the band plays another Zeppelin song
A cover of The Ocean that sounds so good
Feeling so far gone as I dance along

One more shot, my last for the night
as I stumble back to my seat
Drink it down, and head back home
My drunken journey down this lonely street

Beautifully written, know the road you speak of, though, I walk a differnet path to that now.
Awesome poem.

Wow i love your writting style. It's straight to the point and not dressed up by fansy words. It's real and I love the idea of this poem.
