I haven’t the words
I can’t tell the reason
My love grows as it does
My mind
Once master of body and soul
Is now powerless
To stop the flow
Of my strange desire
It makes no sense
I don’t know why
But I feel it just the same
And it pierces my soul
I write this now
From my own cowardice
Since I am incapable of telling you
The way that I feel
I record a shadow of a hint
To express my misery
You don’t know me
But if I could find the strength
I think you could love me
If anyone could
I never went looking
For such beautiful misery
But I stumbled upon it
In the darkness of my own self doubt
Transformed by a moment of exuberant zeal
If you would but speak to me
The sun would shine through the darkest storm
If you would but glance my way
I could fly like a bird
If you would show me but the briefest smile
I would gladly be your prisoner
Until the end of the age
