In all the years I have known him
I always knew he'd lead the "normal" life.
It is the life he had always wanted,
to follow the shining road at his feet.
Whether it was pre-paved
or self-created,
I don't know.
A perfectly straight line,
from where he stood.
As he grew older,
there were no more child-like characters
to keep him company.
(The Scarecrow got his brain,
the Tin-Man found his heart
and the Cowardly Lion looked within
and unleashed his mighty roar).
But soon,
he had no way to back home,
he was lost
and no storm or wizard
would help him find his way.
He had more to care for than himself
and huge gaps in his road
made him trip and fall.
His road was no longer stable
and straight.
In a black and white world,
it all made sense
but when bright colors blind your eyes
with options and problems,
you can only walk with your arms
out in front of you,
so as not to bump into things that lay before.
(keep your eyes on the road)
Nobody said adulthood was easy
and the safety of Munchkinland ends
when you no longer believe.
He was now a tornado of indecision,
a vortex of fear.
Family can not reach him,
we all know the danger of this kind of storm.
But, My Dear Brother,
soon enough, I know
you will find that peace of mind
that gives strength to your heart.
The build up of Energy
that can no longer be contained
and your mighty ROAR
will be heard from all ends of the World.
And when the winds cease to blow
and you look into your daughters eyes
you will know you were always Home,
never alone.
That small vessel contains
the generations of "Us ".
