We sit out on the top
Of all our happy homes
Wishing on the stars
Shining in the darkness
That comforts us like
The blankets on our beds.
But those wishing stars are too far away
They don't hear our dreams and
They can't fix these happy homes.
Inside she is screaming
He's drinking once again
The baby won't stop crying
The electricity is out
They couldn't pay the bills
Cause he lost his job again.
And those wishing stars are too far away
They don't hear our dreams and
They can't fix these happy homes.
Now the furnitures on the lawn
And our clothes are in the car
We're going to her mom's
Sleeping on the floor with
That old blanket from my bed, he's gone
Through the window I can see the stars
But those wishing stars are too far away
They don't hear our dreams and
They can't fix these happy homes.
They don't hear my dreams and
They can't fix my broken home
