Final Rhyme

Contributed by poet_of_anger on Saturday, 27th November 2004 @ 11:37:25 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

I had a vision, that I was not alone
Is this my imagination, or could there still be a hope
I have lived so long with out a companion
Twenty years I have been alone
But is there something more out there
Something that I have yet to be shown
Remembering the days when I was a youth
Not a care in the world, now I'm craving the truth
It tears at my spirit, and mocks my attempts
Leaving me helpless and full of contempt
In the darkest places I search
Not leaving anything overlooked
Yet still the truth manages to scamper on by
Going unseen in my carefully scanning eyes
Life goes on like a nightmare that refuses to end
Horror and betrayal around every bend
I am tired of living like a hermit scared and afraid
I wish to be known now to let the world see I'm brave
Yet here in my corner, where I flee from the world
I am much warmer, and forget I'm lost and forlorn
Shall I leave from my hiding come out of my hole
Shall I enter a new life where my soul's in control
Where I will be champion over the ruthless men
Where my word goes unchallenged and have plenty of friends
The kind that listen when I am in need
Not the kind that backstab everytime I leave
Yes, I shall emerge now from my dark hole
No more does fear have me in it's death hold
Released are the demons
Released are the fears
Enough of the silence
Enough of my tears
I know I have cried in silence many nights
When no one would come to ease my mind
But no longer will I need that
For my soul I will find
And with that my final rhyme

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
