If I Should Leave This Place

“If I Should Leave This Place” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 09/04

If I Should Leave This Place
Some things I need to share
To all my friends, I love you
To my family, it’s not fair.

If I would not get home
Know I would leave with you
I’d have you in my heart
I’d miss you so much too.

If I can’t make it back
There’s one thing you should do
Remember me as peaceful
And looking down upon you.

If God would take my life
I’ll be in golden streams
Keep that sweet thought in mind
Each night in all your dreams.

I never will forget you all
You made my life worth while
I cherished every one of you
With each time you did smile.

For those of you I’m close to
But never got to meet
I’ll see you when you get there
Above, on heaven’s street.

For those I knew, and left behind
Please do not cry for me
I did not want to leave you
But God has sent for me.

If he calls , I must follow
If this day is my time
I’ll be with all the angels
In this new home of mine.

I’m sorry if this hurts you
This wasn’t in my plan
Just know I left this earth
A father, and a man.

My little girl, I’ll miss you
I’ll save your place with me
And watch you as you grow up
To all that you will be.

I’ll pray for you to grow old
Before you join me here
One day I’ll hold you closely
Please wipe away that tear.

Be strong, and live life happy
And keep me in your heart
I’ll wait here until your time
Then we won’t be apart.

My Father and my Mother
Brother and Sister too
I hope you’ll be alright
You know how much I love you.

Please always tell my baby
How much that she was loved
And daddy won’t forget her
He’s watching from above.

Keep her safe from all harm
And help her heart to grow
To give her love like daddy
To let all close friends know.

To not take life for granted
To live each day with grace
To always give of herself
Please tell her just in case.

If I Should Leave This Place
These words I had to share
If somehow I can’t get home
Look skyward, I’ll be there.
