A Little Boy Cries

A Little Boy Cries
~~~~
In a corner of the woods
A little boy cries
Head on his knees
He coves up his eyes
Lost and confused
He tries to manage a smile
But with the news he got
He doesn’t know how
Seems his father up and left
And went away
Left his mother
Without a word to say
After years of lies
He finally told the true
He didn’t want to be tied down
He wanted to live out his youth
Than in a moment three young lives
Were suddenly changed
All the dreams they had
Were rearranged
One went one way
To manage on his own
The other two
Struggled to unite a divided home
When things got rough
His momma would seem so sad
At times it seemed
Hope was all they had
But through the grace of God
They made it on their own
With a lot of hard work
And a high interest loan
Years went by
Like a turn of a page
Now that little boy
Is nineteen years of age
But ever now and then
He still wants to cry
When he sees his mother
Still struggle to get by
Growing up without a dad
Sure has took its toll
At times he thinks
It ripped out his soul
But despite his loss
He’s determined to not give in
To the lack of self confidence
That nags him now and then
This little boy
Has grown-up to be a man
To learn from his fathers mistakes
He vowed to make a stand
But alone at night
He still feels so weak
And after all these years
His eyes still spring a leak
At times he wishes
He could open up his wings and fly
To a different land
Beneath the golden sky
Where his pain and suffering
Would all be gone
And happiness came
With the rising dawn
This little boy of nineteen
Still needs to hide
So I tell him to go ahead
And spread his wings wide
Fly away freely
Towards the sun
Fly away
My beautiful son
this is an outstanding poem dude! great stuff...i've known many people that grew up without a mom or dad, or grew up with neither and i know how hard it must be. But whoever the person is in ur poem...tell them they have made it past so many struggles, and they cant give up now. also let them know, that its always okay to cry. much luv, MJ
Don't we all have a child inside?
Well, maybe not all of us.
But most of us at one time or another have endured a hurt that was overwhelming and unhealing and until that healing finally occurs, we continue to cry in the dark. God
knows are deepest needs. He gave us the ability to cry for a reason for the tears are a balm to the wounds in our souls.
