let the waves crumble,
crackling sharply out of pastel oil skins
bronze bow slicing their heart down the middle,
torn as a deep blue curtain
the horizon's final sunset lingering over the ocean's crest
as it chases my stern...my past
tipped a dazzling lion's gold
i can taste the wind's sweat
kissing my body in its neverending passion
stinging, every speck of my skin remembering
its' god
and in that moment i begin to understand,
borne on this abandoned and pure spartan-child earth,
i could sail my soul forever
