He sees nothing around him
But haunting crumbling memories
Grasping further for them,
But they pull back away.
He chases them, and cries out
Longing to see her face once more.
Even if he is blind.
He feels a gentle touch on his cheek
And yanks away
Burned by the warmth in its heart
For he only wants the pain
It will not betray him.
He pulls it closer
No reason left to trust humanity.
Because it only intensifies
his longing.
