Of A Wilting Rose and The Chasms In Me

Contributed by Doriens_Picture on Friday, 26th November 2004 @ 01:29:29 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

A wilting rose
Is just as beautiful
As one that is in full bloom
It is always lovely and full of grace
Even when it is dieing
It is never ugly even when it dries
I always keep the petals in a basket
I do so love the smell
I try and keep them whole
And hang them from the church like ceiling
Of my room
A rose is like love
And is something that should be held on to
And I will always hold on to you

My infatuation is consuming
And I am overwhelmed by it
She has become everything
All that I hold dear and cherish
This is more than love I feel
More than obsession by far
This is something greater

In a bathroom
In the tub there is the body of a girl
Still bleeding from the wrist
Her skin is blue and her lips
Have lost all that once was sweet
You can still see the marks her tears
Had left behind from when she cried
Streams of black that could not be
Washed away as if permanently stained
The water is still running and is begging to over flow
She is still alive laying there waiting to die
Or to be saved but no one comes
You can see she has made many cuts
But still has a chance to live
If only someone cared
Her hair is fading from red to black
And her eyes are dimming
And the cold of her razor is shining brightly
She is so beautiful there dieing
How anyone could let her go
Is beyond me
When I would cherish all she is
Like a wilting rose

I had tears sting my eyes..this was me..self pity; it's true. I was in a tub of water not long ago..a jacuzzi tub..so the bloddied water was foamy..I was not yet blue..but pale and near death..the para medics saving me because it was their job..water creeping out the door giving my death away..or it would have gone un noticed like so much of my life.. what a beautiful write and I wonder who she is that you love her so? I would like a copy of this..May I?

Oh how flatter me for my writings, I have to say though, I believe your poem is much more touching than mine. Lovely, lovely job!

Sad indeed. I loved the comparison. I love the way you opened up talking about the rose and then transferred so smoothly into the story of the girl. Great structure. And a caring heart you have.
